10 EASY PIECES TO “ADD TO CART”

I love fall! Always have. Crisp air. Colorful leaves. Crackling fires. But what I love most are the clothes. Sweaters. Boots. Leather jackets. These are the go-to items in my closet that I reach for again & again. Still, it’s always fun to update!

Experts say it’s important to take a break from the news–go for a walk, grab a cup of tea–or a glass of wine!–or indulge yourself in something pretty. If like me, you need a quick lift, here are 10 easy pieces to make your fall wardrobe feel fresh—of course, every item is available at every price point. Invest in pieces you’ll love for years; skimp on things that seem very “this year.” Run to your favorite store, go to your laptop, grab your phone—however you prefer to shop. Just try something new this season.

1.Outerwear—coats, jackets, blazers. If you buy one new thing this season, here’s your splurge.

2. Tall boots—worn with skirts, leggings or jeans, for me, no shoe is more comfortable.

3. Leather—jacket, jeans or newest in wide-leg pants—traditional or vegan. A go-to item that truly gets better with time.

4. Structured tailoring—we’re not going back to 80’s shoulder pads, but blazers & jackets with a strong shoulder look best.

5. Menswear shirting & fabrics—grab a crisp shirt or try a pinstripe pant or houndstooth coat. Instant update!

6. Oversized handbags—we all need a bag big enough to hold our wallet, phone, glasses & lipstick. Choose your favorite style at an array of price points.

7. Denim—forever “in.” If you own a million pairs of jeans, try a more modern wide-leg.

8. Chunky knitwear—nothing says “autumn” like a great sweater. Jewel necks, turtlenecks, cardigans long & short. Another investment piece that never goes out of style.

9. Evening wear—big celebrations & galas are back. It feels great to get dressed up again—evening gowns, cocktail dresses, good jewelry & heels (go as high as you can). If needed, don’t forget your Spanx underneath!

10. Something personal that makes a statement—a gorgeous necklace or bracelet, big sunglasses, a pretty scarf, a terrific hat. Make your outfit your own every time you walk out the door.
